Focus of Learning

EastPoint Programs emphasize development of key qualities and skills accessible only through action and practice.

In our increasingly complex and demanding world, leaders need these characteristics to be truly effective. Your organization’s creative engagement and efficiency--as well as employee motivation and loyalty--will benefit greatly from leaders who manifest and apply these qualities.

Some of the qualities we help develop are:

  • Awareness – cultivating an open and flexible awareness allows you to focus on detail while maintaining "panoramic awareness"
  • Presence – what it is, how to manifest it, how to develop it on the job, use of non verbal communication
  • Authenticity – trusting in, and manifesting, genuineness and integrity
  • Resilience – staying centered, focused, and present in the midst of chaos and overwhelm
  • Emotional Intelligence – understanding the feelings of self and others and how they inform decisions and motivate action
  • Courage – working with and overcoming fear and the cultivation of courage
  • Voice – expressing intention with clarity and strength. Using voice to motivate - without hesitation or aggression
  • Power – discovering & connecting with your personal power. Recognizing when and how to use it effectively
  • Creativity – through openness, awareness and intuition - tapping into your inherent creativity that allows the natural solution to emerge
  • Agility – using the skill of letting go and resting in the present moment - in order to remain open to new possibilities - then acting decisively
  • Gentleness – promoting a culture of critical, creative thinking at the same time as cultivating the emotional and intellectual growth and engagement of others
  • Humor – willingness to take intelligent risks while acknowledging the joyful reality that everyone is constantly learning!
  • Through the EastPoint approach, development of these skills and qualities proceeds at several levels and often simultaneously. Short debrief periods emphasize what is being learnt and help verbalize the essence of the skill. Repetition increases ease and familiarity. The Coaching aspect of the program helps participants apply the skill or quality directly in the workplace.
